Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines prohibited uses of the Cognova service. By using Cognova, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Cognova to:

Illegal Activity

  • Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes
  • Violate intellectual property rights of third parties

Harmful Content Generation

  • Generate content that promotes violence, harassment, or discrimination
  • Create deceptive content intended to mislead (deepfakes, impersonation)
  • Produce content that exploits or harms minors
  • Generate content that violates Anthropic's usage policies

Platform Abuse

  • Attempt prompt injection attacks or jailbreaking of AI models
  • Circumvent credit limits, rate limiting, or usage restrictions
  • Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service without authorization
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

Security Violations

  • Attempt to access other users' accounts, workspaces, or data
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without authorization
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code through the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

Impersonation

  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when using the Service
  • Create agents that impersonate real people or organizations without consent
  • Use the Service to generate deceptive communications on behalf of others

3. Tool and Agent Responsibility

When you install custom tools or create agents:

  • You are responsible for the actions your tools and agents take
  • Tools must not access external systems without appropriate authorization
  • Agents must not be configured to circumvent safety guidelines
  • You must not distribute tools that contain malicious code

4. Rate Limits and Fair Use

  • Respect the credit limits of your subscription tier
  • Do not attempt to create multiple free accounts to circumvent limits
  • Do not share account credentials to bypass workspace member limits
  • Excessive automated usage may be throttled to maintain service quality for all users

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violations of this AUP, please report them to [email protected]. We take reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

6. Consequences

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning and request to cease the prohibited activity
  • Temporary suspension of your account
  • Permanent termination of your account
  • Reporting to law enforcement if required by law

We reserve the right to determine what constitutes a violation and to take action at our discretion.

7. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
